Hebrew Scriptures are referred to hundreds of times in the New Testament. Every time a New Testament author says “It is written” he is referring to the Hebrew Scriptures. Y’shua said in Luke 8:21 And He said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear and DO the Word of God.The only Word of God at time was in the Hebrew Scriptures.

Matt. 5:17. “Do not think that I came to do away with, or to bring an incorrect interpretation to, the Torah or the Prophets: I did not come to do away with but to bring spiritual abundance, for the Torah (Teaching) to be obeyed as it should be and God’s promises to receive fulfillment. 18. For truly I say to you: until the sky and the Earth would pass away, not one yod or one vav could ever pass away from the Torah (Teaching), until everything would come to pass. (Luke 16:17, Heb. 10:28) 19. Therefore, whoever would break one of the least of these commandments, and would teach people this way, will be called least in the Kingdom of the Heavens: but whoever would do the commandments and would teach them, will be called great in the Kingdom of the Heavens.

Hebrews 10:26. Indeed when we are sinning deliberately after taking the knowledge of the truth, no further offering remains concerning sins, 27. but some fearful expectation of judgment with its blazing flames appears like a living being intent on devouring God’s adversaries. 28. Anyone who has set aside the Torah (Teaching) of Moses dies without pity on testimony by two or three witnesses: (Deut. 17:6; 19:15, Matt. 5:18) 29. how much more worthy of punishment do you suppose the one will be who trod down the Son of God and who looked upon the blood of the covenant, by Whom he was sanctified, as defiled, and has insulted the Spirit of Grace? 30. For we know the One Who said,

       “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay.” (Deut. 32:35)

And again,

       “The Lord will judge His people.” (Deut. 32:36, Ps. 135:14)

There are hundreds of quotes from the Hebrew bible in the New Testament, so why are there preachers and schools teaching that now we only need the New Testament? It is obvious from the examples above that those who teach that the Torah is no longer valid will be in very real trouble when standing before the Judgment Seat. Jacob 3.1. Not many of you will become teachers, my brothers, since you know that we will take greater judgment. Just a glance at the examples above is ample proof of a big problem that heretical attitude that rejects the Hebrew Scriptures.
