DO NOT GIVE GLORY TO SATAN!

Is. 42:8. I AM the LORD*. That is My name and My glory I shall not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.

Is. 45:5. I AM the LORD*, and there is no one else, there is no God besides Me. I girded you, though you have not known Me 6. so they will know from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is no one besides Me. I AM the LORD*, and there is no other. 7. I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create chaos.[1] I AM the LORD* Who does all these things.

Without realizing it many strong believers do give glory and empowerment to Satan, who is not God, but has fooled people into treating him with great respect. How can that be? Every time someone says, “I must be doing something right because Satan has been attacking me left and right.” That person is giving glory to Satan. Substitute other names for Satan: devil and enemy; all those refer to Satan so anyone speaking of attacks is giving glory to Satan, the devil, and our enemy. Saying any of those has attacked you gives him glory and actually empowers him. It is saying he has your permission to attack, attacks that some brag about like a badge of honor.

Jacob 4:7. Therefore if you would be subject to God, you should resist the devil and he will flee for his life from you..

Matt. 12:36. And I say to you that every idle word which men will speak will be paid back with regard to his account on Judgment Day: 37. for you[2] will be justified, declared righteous, because of your words, and you will be condemned because of your words.

Psalm 19: 15. The words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart will be[3] acceptable in Your sight, LORD*, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Any time you hear anyone speaking of harmful things happening in his life, saying something like “The devil (or Satan or enemy) has really been attacking me ..” that person has been authorizing the attacks, empowering the evil forces over which we have authority.

Matt. 28:18. Then when Y’shua came He spoke to them, saying, “All authority[4] has been given to Me in heaven and upon the Earth. 19. Therefore when you go, you must now make disciples[5] of all the heathens, 20. teaching them to keep all the things that I have been commanding you: (Amos 9:12) and behold I AM with you all the days until the end of the age.

We are to move in Y’shua’s authority, always confident in His power, not our power. One step in direction that each one us can take is to stop giving glory to Satan, devil, and enemy.

Numbers 23:13. And in all things that I have said to you be circumspect and you will not make mention of the name of other gods,[6] nor let it be heard out of your mouth.

So, we are not even to mention Satan, the devil, or the enemy. Anyone who continues to give glory to one or more of those three can count on the continuing of those attacks, most likely with ever-increasing severity.

[1]   (v.7) This passage is difficult to translate into English because the Hebrew words are Shalom and ra. Shalom is much more than peace and ra, which is usually translated evil, is the opposite of Shalom. See Shalom in Glossary.

[2]    (v.37) Each ‘you’ in this verse is singular. See Gossip/Slander in Glossary.

[3]    (19:15) David was emphatic, that he would guard his mouth and his thoughts. See 2 Cor. 10:5.

[4]    (v.18) Including authority over death, Isa. 25:8, Hos. 13:14, 1 Cor. 15:54,55.

[5]    (v.19) See Matt. 28:19 in Glossary.

[6]    (v.13) Think about this one! We are not to even mention, literally remember, the names of other gods! The repetition is for emphasis. See Exod. 34:14, Josh. 23:7, Hos. 2:19, Zech. 13:2.
